The synth-heavy song is propelled by a house beat. "We had an appetite to write some music that made us feel good in a physical way, we felt like we hadn't done that much dancing stuff since "Holy Fire'," Yannis Philippakis said. "There's a big emphasis on grooves on this record." Watch the band perform "In Degrees" live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA-icHJIBTM

Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1 by Foals was recently released on 8 March 2019. The album is considered the first half of a two-piece project, being supplemented by their consecutive sixth studio album Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 2, to be released in the fourth quarter of 2019.

According to Patrick Clarke at The Quietus, "It’s Foals’ command of texture that makes this record so immediately appealing, and so much better than anything they’ve released in the past. While their last album What Went Down suffered from an overreliance on muddy, guitar-driven rock, on Everything Not Saved... they embrace a cornucopia of aesthetics. Every now and then it gets a little muddled, but for the most part it makes for a bright and glistening listen. Sometimes it’s a simple touch, the delicately plucked harp hidden behind the guitar on opener ‘Moonlight’ for example, which builds slowly over distant birdsong and ghostly waves of synth, and sometimes it’s brash and bold, like the wild psychedelic kraut explosion that caps off the excellent ‘Syrups’, and as a whole it makes for an album that keeps its listener on their toes with unending twists and turns." https://bit.ly/2vDuCgU

The album's title is taken from the epigraph of the T. Michael Martin novel The End Games, which claims "Everything not saved will be lost" originated as a "Nintendo 'Quit Screen' message". Check out a Live on KEXP session with Foals -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7x91ZFVt0qI
