Paper Planes" is a song by British rapper M.I.A. from her second studio album, Kala (2007). The song was written by M.I.A. and Diplo. The song's backing track is a replayed sample of the 1982 song "Straight to Hell" by The Clash, and the members of The Clash are credited as co-writers of the song.

IMHO the best song written/performed since 2000.

Annnnnnd this track from London-born artist M.I.A. (Maya Arulpragasam) samples our previous song, "Straight to Hell" from The Clash. The song also appears in the film Pineapple Express, which features actress Rosie Perez, who also appears as a dancer in the 1989 Spike Lee film "Do the Right Thing"

If I had to vote for the best song so far this century, this would be the one. M.I.A. by multiple request.
