When discussing this debut album, Ryan Adams confided "In retrospect, I knew that was the last optimism I was gonna have for a long time." While it was originally released on Mood Food Records, Ryan was so fond of the album that he talked Geffen Records into buying it from Mood Food Records so that it could be reissued on Outpost three years later.
