Angel Olsen doesn’t want you reading too much into her new Aisles EP. On the heels of two of her most emotionally taxing albums yet, she’s recorded something entirely out of character: a covers EP of ’80s hits she’s heard at the grocery store. It’s not a declaration of a lighter new direction, or a sign that she’s entered a Weezer-y, internet-pandering phase of her career. They’re just some covers, she insists. “I know it’s not really in my history to do something unintentional or just for the hell of it,” she writes in notes accompanying the EP. “I just wanted to have a little fun and be a little more spontaneous.” - Pitchfork https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/angel-olsen-aisles-ep/ |

Former singer for nu-disco band, Escort, this song comes from Adeline's EP, released last summer. She explained in a statement that the song is about a relationship that's ending, the moment of realization that there is a transition coming. "It’s saying goodbye to something while saying hello to the next.” (Rolling Stone) https://www.adelineofficial.com/ |

The Montreal-based trio said of their music, “We love smooth sounds, calm melodies and simple rhythms that relax, but make your right foot tap and your chin bounce on the beats. We are all in DIY: we record, mix, master and shoot our music videos ourselves, and we’re loving it!” https://bit.ly/3tlRDRR |

And that calls for something by Tears for Fears! Such a great song to sing along at the top of your lungs! "And this my four-leaf clover / I'm on the line, one open mind / This is my four-leaf clover..." The video to "Head Over Heels" was directed by Nigel Dick, who would later direct Britney Spears in "Baby One More Time." Roland Orzabal gave Dick the concept, which was meeting a beautiful girl in the library and growing old with her. He also suggested many of the very random images, like the rabbi and the chimp. There's even an homage to the movie 'Ghostbusters' in a scene where Orzabal pulls a card catalog drawer and the cards go flying. https://bit.ly/3hHZkv3 1985 video flashback: https://youtu.be/CsHiG-43Fzg |
