I have a giant Post banner hanging outside my door at home that I salvaged from the record store I worked at. I will never let go of it.

This Time Around
by Jonah Yano

he first time I heard "This Time Around" (by Jessica Pratt) I was mostly confused by it. Not because it's a confusing song, but because it made me feel so many things at one time, that I couldn't properly process anything about it. So I sat with it on loop, for what in my memory feels like 3 or 4 days in a row, and tried to grasp my feelings about it more completely with each individual listen. By the end of that 3 or 4 days I was quite familiar with the song, but I still felt like there was something unknown about it to me - something that I couldn't get from just listening obsessively. So like any songwriter does in that predicament, I learned to sing and play the song myself. Once I learned the song, I would play it the same way I listened to it when i first heard it, over and over and over. https://jonahyano.bandcamp.com/

Press Gang
by TV Priest
(17 plays) | (0 fans)

New music from London's TV Priest. "‘Uppers’ is self-produced and sounds it, but in a good way. Ragged yet tight, sprawling yet focussed, it’s a singular vision of a disparate time. It rounds up most of the usual suspects of our Un-united Kingdom, the pop culture, the insularity, the lies on the side of a bus, but manages to breathe new life into those old tropes by sheer force of personality. “We’re better off uninformed” spits Charlie Drinkwater witheringly at one point, carrying the same ‘I can’t believe I still have to deal with this shit’ disgust of a young Nick Cave. One moment he is roaring uncomfortable truths, the next he is coming out with the sort of dark mumblings you might hear on a 3am nightbus. All the while, guitars drive and surge relentlessly." https://www.readdork.com/reviews/tv-priest-uppers 'Uppers' will be released February 5th. London band Dry Cleaning performed "Scratchcard Lanyard" and other songs in our studio last March just before the lockdown began: https://youtu.be/rLppqLxALfQ ---- "A woman in aviators firing a bazooka...." The "Scratchcard Lanyard" video was directed by Rottingdean Bazaar who cleverly use old-school in-camera special effects to depict either a very head or a very tiny stage.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PuqlOTyJt0
