"Song Machine, Season One's" finale was a music video for this song. In it, the gang — 2D, Murdoc, Noodle, and Russel — return to Plastic Beach, the setting of their 2010 album. Unfortunately, their visit is short-lived, as a sea monster portrayed by Leee John emerges from the depths of the ocean and destroys Gorillaz’s former seaside home.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJVV8o6vgso |

Thanks, Abbey, for this Adrianne Lenker request. --- Recorded in an isolated Massachusetts cabin onto 8-track tape shortly after the pandemic shutdown bagan (and the consequent Big Thief tour cancellation), this minimal and haunting collection is mostly guitar and vocals, with harmonies and countermelodies that give a forlorn happy/sad aura to this collection of Adrianne Lenker’s emotive, personal songs. Courtney Barnett said of her partner Jen Cloher's song, "Jen wrote the song around 10 years ago. I play guitar in Jen’s band, and sometimes we play it live, and it’s such a Crazy Horse song. So I was like, 'This would be really cool if Kurt was on it.' We shredded it out." --- Watch Courtney Barnett and Kurt Vile perform together Live on KEXP in October of 2018: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uAXMl-Bfiw |

On Twitter, Adia Victoria declared, "this isn’t a song about hope, this is a howl for change." She wrote, "No other place embodies the American experiment with the precision of the South. It is home to both unspeakable horror and unshakable faith. It is up to us, those who are blessed enough to be Southern, to take up the mantle Brother [John] Lewis left us. As the old saying goes, “As the South goes, so goes the nation.” --- "South Gotta Change" was a recent KEXP Song of the Day.
