“I believe that men are here to grow themselves into the best good that they can be.” – John Coltrane --- John Coltrane recorded "A Love Supreme" in one day, December 9th, 1964, and released it the following year. He presented it as a spiritual declaration that his musical devotion was now intertwined with his faith in God. Coltrane was leading a quartet featuring pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Jimmy Garrison, and drummer Elvin Jones.: https://classicalbumsundays.com/album-of-the-month-john-coltrane-a-love-supreme/

Follow Seattle's The New Triumph at their official website: https://www.thenewtriumphmusic.com/ --- This review says, "Leadoff song 'Color Unity' features repeated singing of the song title, a la John Coltrane's 'A Love Supreme,' resulting in a similar spiritual feel. The song's message of cultural togetherness carries a new feeling of our increasing need for human interaction." Go here to buy "Night Trip": https://thenewtriumph.bandcamp.com/album/night-trip

Too High
by Stevie Wonder
(30 plays) | (0 fans)

This song talks about the pitfalls of using drugs.Though the track swings with doo-wops and high-hats bopping throughout, Wonder ends the party on a lyrical sour note: “Did you hear the news about the girl today,” he asks. “She passed away/ What did her friend say?/ They said she's too high…” "Too High" was written, arranged, and performed by Stevie Wonder, as is all his work from this period. In fact, he played virtually every instrument on the "Innervisions" album as well, making the whole thing a one-man show.
