Distant Axis
by Matt Berninger

Matt Berninger co-wrote "Distant Axis" with the Walkmen’s Walter Martin. “I met Walter Martin fifteen years ago when The National opened for The Walkmen on a tour of sh**ty clubs in the American Southeast. On that tour I learned a lot about how to be in a band without ruining your life,” Berninger said in a statement. ‘Distant Axis’ started from a sketch Walt sent me named ‘Savannah.’ I think it’s about falling out of touch with someone or something you once thought would be there forever.” Here's the video for this fine song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGF7FNVOP58

Lifetime

Romy Madley Croft is one-third of the band The xx. Her debut solo single, “Lifetime”, reflects her fascination with club classics and the image of Ibiza that she’s held in her head since she was a teenager. “I was craving that upbeat feeling, dreaming I was in a club, hoping that by the time the song came out, we’d be able to listen to it in a club,” Romy says. “And now, of course, none of that is happening.”: https://www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/50630/1/romy-madley-croft-the-xx-solo-album-lifetime-interview
