“All you black folks, you must go/ All you Mexicans, you must go/ And all you poor folks, you must go," the group's leader Q-Tip practically croons. "Muslims and gays, boy, we hate your ways/ So all you bad folks, you must go.” Although Trump was definitely on Q-Tip’s mind, he says the decision to not name-check the incoming president was intentional. “We wanted to make [the song] more of an overarching premise and not an exact indictment of anything,” he says. “We just spoke to the people -- black, white, gay, poor -- and to different religions. We tried to cover it all in three-and-a-half minutes.” The track also envisions a future where gender equality is the norm. “Dreaming of a world that’s equal for women with no division,” spits Tribe co-founder Phife Dawg in what would be one of his final verses. https://bit.ly/2CtrjQF |

The fifth regular studio album from this Nigerian artist (aka Damini Ogulu) is an impressive set of his Afro-fusion sound blending elements of Afro-beat, juju and other African styles with R&B, dancehall, hip hop and reggae, combining a blend of live and sampled instrumentation, percolating rhythms and radiant melodies with lyrics ranging from party-starting braggadocio to politically charged critiques aimed at racism and exploitation. https://kexp.org/read/2020/8/24/new-music-reviews-824/ |

"The Australian electro-pop veterans return with a climate-change album both as chilled as an upscale boutique and as politically engaged as your Instagram feed." https://bit.ly/2EyH6hW |

From the 1983 debut album by Aztec Camera, or more specifically, Roddy Frame. Something of a prodigy, Frame began playing guitar when he was just four years old. "Yeah, I started learning guitar when I was about four years old. I was playing the thing when I was around nine or ten ... I was just completely crazy about it [guitar] by the time I was four or five years old." https://bit.ly/2D8fdNb |

'Free Love' is the first album since Sylvan Esso founders Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn got married. It’s also the first to feature both members on vocals and first recorded in the studio they built in the woods around their Durham home base. In a statement, the band shares, “It’s a record about being increasingly terrified of the world around you and looking inward to remember all the times when loving other people seemed so easy, so that you can find your way back to that place.” https://bit.ly/3gXaZq7 |

This song by Siouxsie and the Banshees is inspired by a real life woman named Christine “Chris” Costner Sizemore. Chris was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (DID) at a young age, after she witnessed two deaths and a horrible accident within three months of each other. https://bit.ly/3b7fAEo "Christine" music video for your entertainment: https://youtu.be/Rtt_0OKzRek |

New single. “We were inspired to celebrate those around us who wave the flag urging people to hold on,” the band explained in a statement. “It could be friends, family, or public figures standing up for what you believe in. Just that appreciation to feel hope.” https://bit.ly/3ltUu7G |

'Never Come Back' was the first track from Suddenly that I finished," Dan Snaith said. "It came together very quickly and was one of those tracks that is a lot fun to make. As soon as I landed on the main synthesizer chords and the repeated refrain the rest came together very quickly and naturally. I felt like it was my job to get out of the way and not over complicate or over think it. Sometimes the best pleasures are the simple ones." https://bit.ly/3hE8RUO |
