"Rotterdam-based quartet Neighbours Burning Neighbours is unfazed by chaos. In fact, the band’s music could be considered something of a safe space for the more chaotic skirmishes; a formidable, malformed brand of noise-pop that pierces through the void, achieving a joyous harmony within even the starkest of discord." https://neighboursburningneighbours.com/Bio

Sister Jack

Spoon frontman Britt Daniel on "Sister Jack": ""[This] song felt very straight-forward to me. Venturing on power pop, which I'm not exactly wild about. So I said, 'Okay, if we're going to do it this way then when we get to the solo it cannot be a guitar solo.' I thought it probably can't even be an instrument. It's just gotta be this sound collage. That pulled it together for me. This one started out as a piano ballad. It's real pretty. I'd forgotten about that version. And I'd tried maybe ten different versions. But somehow we took it to this one that felt like it was sort of based on 'And Your Bird Can Sing' by The Beatles — I was very obsessed with Revolver at the time. Revolver and Prince's Around The World In A Day."

I Don't Wanna Grow Up
by Tom Waits

Film director Jim Jarmusch used to consider music videos as a movie in miniature until he got into a fight with Tom Waits over the making of the one for this song. Jarmush explained to Uncut magazine: "He wanted me to cut it differently, and I said, that 'it's like a film I'm making, Tom,' and, and he said, 'no, it's a commercial for this song. If people are watching TV, I don't want them changing channel. If you can pop this crazy image in the earlier, it would help this, that, blah blah blah.'" "We had a big fight in which I dropped him in an enclosed parking lot behind a metal door in LA in the middle of the night," Jarmush added. "He was pounding on the door. I vividly remember the insult, which no one has ever said to me again. He yelled through the door, 'God dammit, Jim, I'm going to glue your hair to the wall.' At which point I let him back in. It was a fight between friends. We reconciled."

The Butthole Surfers got their break when Jello Biafra caught their act in San Francisco and became a fan, shortly thereafter inviting them to open for the Dead Kennedys and T.S.O.L. at the Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles. You don't get any more of a hardcore-punk blessing than this, unless Sid Vicious personally flies down from heaven to anoint you with vodka or something.
