Happy Birthday David "Ziggy" Marley (born October 17, 1968 – age 51) Ziggy is the oldest son of reggae legend Bob Marley and his wife Rita. As a child, he received guitar and drum lessons from his father, and began sitting in on Wailers recording sessions at the age of ten. Ziggy began a solo career in 2003 and has released seven studio albums. He has won 8 Grammy Awards. Marley is the founder of U.R.G.E. Foundation, which is dedicated to making enduring contributions to the lives of children in Jamaica, Africa and throughout the world. Wilco just dropped their 11th album 'Ode to Joy' on October 4th! Wilco recorded the album in their Chicago studios in early 2019; on July 16, they announced the album, released lead single "Love Is Everywhere (Beware)", and announced tour dates. The live performances break a two and a half year hiatus for the band from touring and a year off in general. "Everyone Hides" was released as the album's second single on September 17, 2019 |

GLOBAL PREMIERE On November 8th, Minneapolis rapper Dessa will release a live album recorded with the Minnesota Orchestra called Sound the Bells. The album will feature a fully-orchestrated version of “5 out of 6,” from her 2018 album Chime. KEXP is proud to premiere this track today! Dessa will perform live in Seattle at the Crocodile on January 18th with a string quartet doing stripped-down renditions of the orchestral numbers. |
